Our Massage Services
The massage therapy profession continues to grow and develop as new clinical studies change the way we understand the body. Terms which have been confusing to both clients and therapists are being modified to more accurately reflect the types of massage techniques and modalities being presented. The end objective of massage is the reduction of stress and tension from muscular and structural (bone) tensions conflicts within the body, resulting in relaxation. "Deep tissue" is often misunderstood as "aggressive", "hard", or "deep pressure", when in fact it means that the therapist has received the training to effectively apply advanced techniques and approaches to effectively assess and reach the deeper layers of knotted or congested muscle tissue.
While there is not as yet a consistent vocabulary across the massage profession to facilitate communication between therapist and client, Bethany Massage therapists do their best to achieve clarity of communication with clients.
Energy Modalities
We do our best to provide you with the widest array of bodywork available in the area. We're planning to provide Cranio-Sacral therapy and Reiki. We'll let you know as soon as we locate quality therapists.
Chair Massage
Sometimes called "seated" or "corporate" or "on-site" massage and can be found in a variety of settings, such as businesses, airports, and street fairs. The therapist uses a specially designed massage chair in which the client, fully clothed, sits comfortably. The session is typically short, 10-20 minutes, and generally costs about $1/minute.
