Elaine Callinan, M.S., LMT, NCBTMB, a 1989 graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage, has practiced bodywork for 21 years in various settings--home practice in Silver Spring, MD, health/fitness center, sports club, chiropractor's office, cancer counseling center, skin care salon.  Over the years she's worked with people challenged by chronic muscular tension, cancer, sports injuries, senior citizens, and people with immune system disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson's disease, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, scleroderma, and people with special needs. Elaine has taught massage continuing education classes and worked as a massage school instructor; was a volunteer on the massage team for the North Carolina to Washington, D.C, AIDS Ride, a marathon in Maryland, and has done seated massage at various events. 

Elaine started with Bethany Massage in 2006, and took over as owner in late 2008.   She's in training as a 'Health Coach' through Joshua Rosenthal's Institute of Integrative Nutrition curriculum, drawing on the best experts in holistic health and nutrition.  As a Health Coach she can share not only her experience, but the wisdom and experience of the masters, such as Andrew Weil, Mark Hyman, Deepak Chopra, Joy Bauer, Joel Fuhrman, and many others.  Her goal is to support the efforts of each client to become more proficient in managing their health and well-being.

Our goals at Bethany Massage & Healing Arts are to:

• Provide quality therapeutic massage and bodywork 7 days a week, year round, at very reasonable fees.
  

• Offer practical information, support, and guidance to clients wishing to explore a more healthy lifestyle.
  

• Guide our clients to the best in area complementary health practitioners and holistic products.
  

• Offer interesting and appropriate specials from time to time; and
  

• Provide on-site chair massage services to area businesses and at civic events.
